Cynical Dad

Gravatar I'm with you on so many of these things. TBS did a terrible job on this. I was glad I was watching a few of the games in a bar, where I didn't have to listen to the inanities. Although they did have Don Orsillo doing one of the NL series. He's not too awful (even if he is a Red Sox announcer).

The WC playoffs, a shorter season, getting rid of the stupid DH rule (or implementing it for both leagues) - I couldn't agree more.

I draw the line at Rachel Ray. She's too fucking perky for baseball. And she says Yum-o all. the. time. She doesn't need to be on any more television sets than she is already.

Dane Cook didn't bother me much because a.) I Ti-Fauxed the games and b.) I have no idea who he is.

Gravatar My two cents:
I agree, the coverage has been handled horribly. Shouldn't they have been prepared for this? I mean, they've been broadcasting the Braves all season... presumably, they've had plenty of practice. For the first couple of games, it looked like they had about two cameras out there! Thank god I'm not a braves fan or I would have been going nuts this year. And Dane Cook? I'm still trying to figure out what was worse: his promos or those Frank TV commercials they played every FIVE SECONDS.
Ugh.

Gravatar TBS will soon be sucking in HD, so there's that.

Cook is an idiot. Daniel Cook bugs me too.

Gravatar Fortunately I go to one of the few straight male hairdressers that has Redskins season tickets. We talk football the whole time.

Gravatar I like your idea of shortening the regular season. But then again, I'm a Pirates fan. My season ends in mid May every year anyway.

Gravatar I am pretty sure you aren't going to rooting for the Sox this weekend.
We are having a get together Friday night to watch the game and fortunately it won't be on TBS, they really were just sucktastic.
I don't think I even noticed Dane Cook, I think I am happy about that.

Gravatar Sports on TBS = no HD. I've never seen my husband so ticked off.

Call me crazy but I like the DH. I'm all for getting rid of interleague play though. What's the point?

Gravatar Maybe they need to follow the NFL and have Dennis Miller do commentary. Or not...

Gravatar We don't get this "baseball" (?? :) in the UK, so I'll just have to aim my contribution at your awesome idea for a topless barbers; sorry I meant AWFUL, just appalling...

Gravatar Wow- I never thought about that Cook family. They're sure a successful breed.

Gravatar Long time reader, first time poster. The battle of the 'Cooks' cracks me up. Dane vs. Daniel. However, the little Satan child himself could not have taken away from what is shaping up to be a great Rocktober here in Colorado.

Gravatar A lot of good points. TBS is horrible.
I say get rid of Inter league play, go back to a balanced schedule. And do something to speed up the games.

Ohhh, and make sure the Big Pappi dolls put away for the season.

Gravatar You might like the following barber shop in Poland - http://www.picklequeen.com/Polis...- barbershop.htm

Gravatar Given how many cuts and burns hairdressers get during the course of their work... OUCH!

Gravatar Yeah...I just don't get the Dane Cook Thing. Maybe it's me, but I keep waiting for the punchline. Someone shit on the coats? OK ...I get it ...now everyone's coat has shit on it, but how is that funny? I might just be too old and at 36 that's really difficult for me to say. Not in a speech impediment kind of way, just a "I'm officially a curmudgeon" sort of way. As for TBS, I liked the one stop shopping for division play. I usually mute the game anyway and listen on XM satellite. @Mrs. Chicky - TBS has the games in TBS you just need the most up to date hardware to get it. It started the day before the playoffs began.I wouldn't mind a topless Rachel Ray cutting my hair while the game is on... wait...isn't that what you were proposing?

Gravatar @Mrs. Chicky - I meant the games are offered in HD on TBS... not in TBS on TBS. Sorry.

Gravatar Major Bedhead-- Be thankful you don't know who Dane Cook is.

Julia-- I can't believe I forgot to bitch about those annoying Frank TV commercials!

Whit-- Daniel Cook gives me the creeps.

Sarah-- That's cool.

Mark-- The Pirates fans need to revolt. I still loved when they wore the shirts with the "P" covered up so it simply said "Irates."

Arwen-- If you haven't noticed Dane Cook, you must not have seen a sporting event on television for the past month and a half.

Mrs. Chicky-- I like the DH. I like the extra offense.

Mikeo-- I actually liked Dennis Miller when he was on MNF.

UKLee-- Somebody needs to run with the topless barber idea. It'll be like printing your own money.

Creative-type Dad-- A breed that should be stopped!

FCmom-Dad-- I'm actually rooting for the Rockies. How can you not?

Shug-- The Big Papi doll does not get put away until the offseason. But thanks for the link!

Kittenpie-- Cuts and burns? What the hell do you have done when you get your hair cut?

Bill-- I think even the younger people are starting to realize that Dane Cook isn't funny.

Gravatar I'm actually down with all of your suggestions -- I love the Wild Card Lighning Round idea, as the added games/stress would actually put the Wild Card winner(s) at a disadvantage heading into the Divisional/League Championship rounds, which in turn rewards the division winners with something beyond home field advantage for having finished in 1st. Very smart indeed.

As for the DH... gotta keep it. Let's see: pitchers hitting or Papi at bat -- which adds more drama and excitement to the game?

Gravatar Too bad about the Yankees. I wouldve like to have seen Sox-Yanks again. And complete disrespect by George S running his mouth about firing Torre before game 3.

Gravatar TwoBusy-- I agree. The DH should stay. But I'd rather do without it than have the leagues play differently.

Above Average Joe-- I would've loved to have seen a Yanks-Sox series.
