Hi Anne,
It seems to me that this is really something which plagues a lot of the transgendered. Of the transsexual friends that I have, nearly all suffer or have suffered from the same issue, and I know I do too.
One very good friend, who transitioned about two years ago, did exactly what you're doing now. She threw out all the insecurities or internal checks that she had in place thanks to her gender disphoria and has become one of the most outgoing people I know. She's having the time of her life thanks to that!
In many ways, she's my strongest role model. I hope I can learn that from her (as well as the 500 other things she's helping me with!!)

Brilliant philosophy Anne. I agree with you. I need to learn how to do the same thing. It's hard for me to let go and stop freaking working for ten seconds. I'm doing that tonight.
