Gravatar I probably should add this link as well. They're working on a blood test for it. If it was an excuse, then it will show up in their blood test.

Gravatar yes i do agree with you depressed people attract one another. haha. all my exes had a depressive side about them! which makes me more skeptical about ever becoming normal and being in a normal relationship. but i think i'm managing it pretty well for now. i mean, there are actually people out there who think i am smart and there are even people out there who are older than me and more learned than i am but come to me for advice anyway. so i guess i'm doing a pretty good job of acting normal.

Gravatar Beerbabe - acting normal? Is that a good thing? lol
Maybe they come to you for advice because they think you are wise. Depressed people seem to be more intelligent anyway (I'm pretty sure I read that somewhere ... lot's of Bi-Polar people have high IQ's)

Actually, one of my friends sisters was Bi-Polar (And she seemed to think I was too), and one night when a group of us went to a cafe, she was discussing a lot of what the psychiatrist had her doing - things like writing with both hands and stuff.

Even though I knew I could write with both hands, she asked me to try something I didn't think possible. She got me to write different things with both hands ... and I was able to do it!

She informed me that her psychiatrist had told her only ppl with IQ's in the top 1% can do that. (I'd already done two IQ tests by that stage, so I already knew I had an IQ in top 1%)
It became a neat party trick I sometimes perform! lol

But ... getting back to the 'normal' thing. I think you are too smart to be 'normal'. Which is a good thing.

I'm not sure 'normal' people are the best to ask advice from anyway, they haven't experience enough of life to make them 'different' ... of course, there is the possiblity that 'different' people have experienced too much! lol

Normal people are too average to be of any use! lol

Gravatar why does everyone say i'm smart? I ain't exactly the biggest brainiac in the family. if you have lawyers, biomedic researchers and engineers for relatives while you have a job nobody has a clue about, (at least not in Singapore anyway, it's different in US and Europe) you won't actually feel smart either.

i hated school as a child cos it was boring, and my grades were nothing compared to my brainiac cousins. (though i half suspect some of them learnt by rote to score high marks - possible again in Singapore)

a good sixth sense? probably. the strange obsession with observing people? hell ya! smart? i'm not too sure.

but yeah, you're like the 3rd or 4th person in the last month who's told me i'm smart. and thanks for that. I'm not much of a looker. at least i have my apparent smartness to bank on! hahahahhaha...

Gravatar Beerbabe - So you admit I was right! Follow this logic!

"...if you have lawyers, biomedic researchers and engineers for relatives..."

So you admit to having the right pedigree for intelligence.

"...while you have a job nobody has a clue about..."

Yep! You've spoken abou thow clever they are, yet you have a job they can't work out! You must be smarter to do a job even clever people can't understand!

"i hated school as a child cos it was boring..."

Classic statement of highly intelligent individual who needed better stimulation! Proves I was right AGAIN!

"...my grades were nothing..."

Proven fact, grades don't prove who is smarter ... only who is better at memorising things. Like you said yourself, "...though i half suspect some of them learnt by rote..." Which is exactly what most beleive the school system does! Just teaches to memorise facts.

"...strange obsession with observing people..."
Intelligent people are more observant most of the time. It's why they often include 'observation' type things in modern IQ tests.

"...you're like the 3rd or 4th person in the last month who's told me i'm smart."

And I bet you regard all three or four of us as intelligent people! See, we are observant enough to pick up on your intelligence!

I win! I WIN! I WIN!
**TOUCHDOWN***

***Spikes the ball and does victory dance in the end zone!***

I am sooo gooood!

Gravatar urgh!!!!! another freek said i was smart again today!!

i wish all my relatives were there to hear it... they'd be amused....

especially my mum. she thinks my life lacks direction. i had a hard time convincing her it's all planned chaos. the early bits were real chaos, the rest, all planned. sometimes even my friends think i am crazy.

I really don't feel smart cos I do have friends who are really really really smart, not just academically but streetwise too. i try to be like that too. Sometimes when i get stuck in situations i wonder how they'd react and i react that way too.

it's called acting smart!!!!

Gravatar Yeah, I wear a bracelet which says, 'What Would Homer Simpson Do?'

Always gets me out of a tight spot! D'oh!!!!!

But like they say, some of the most interesting people on the facce of the planet never figured out what they wanted to do in life.
