Hey here,
We should all learn from the Gaul's, who were protected by their Druid's Magic Potion which gave them superhuman strength, and also to the Obelix, the guy with pig tails who felt into the cauldron when he was a baby and the potion had a permanent effect on him, and who works delivering menhirs. I have still yet to discover the use of it.Oh and the cute little dog he loves so much!!
Try and try but the Roman's could never penetrate and capture this small village...Hillarious stuff.

lol Yeah, Dogmatix was cute.
I often feel I am a bit like Asterix, the small intelligent dude! I'v ebeen reading those books (history books?) since I was about ten years old. I have eleven of them sitting next to me on my bookself as we speak. (Which is about a third of the entire series, give a few more)
Of course, the Gauls didn't try to take over the world. They just wanted to go hunting for wild boar and hoped the sky wouldn't fall on their heads!
There is actually a theme park in France (like Disneyland), but it's all Asterix the Gaul.

Hahaha....Sweet. This 'idiot's guide to history' is really funny, esepcially how you describe the 'similarities' btwn the diff pp and powers down the centuries. Off course, now America (the gov mainly) will find themselves so overstretched, and open the way for probably 'another'? or the beginning of blocs (pun intended), or a world govenrnment (reservations - 1984?)....
Anway, Imran, thx for the Asterix bit...Such a franco-view of history, but a wonderfully cute one at that. My hisotry is no good, but when did Charlegmane guy came in...right after the roman empire split?
I'll always love Asterix and Obelix, off course and the odd acst of motley of villages..Wait, Iforgot dogmatix, must get a dog like that. hehehehe...

Dreamer - Yeah, I covered Charlemagne, but only very quickly and not by name. It was the bit which went:
"The Celts decided to get a little Frank ... and France was born. Or more precisely, the Holy Roman Empire was born, though it wasn't very Holy, wasn't Roman and not much of an Empire."
Don't worry about the Americans, after I discuss how to take over the world, there will be some new power struggles - expecially in the wooden furniture industry.
Hopefully that doesn't give too much away!]
