The final part of the movie on Shin-ae's rebellion against her religious faith was rather draggy, but strangely I didn't want the movie to end. That says a lot about the astonishing performance by Jeon Do-yeon.

Hi Jacob
Yeah, I guess we were expecting more? And perhaps, or at least I was, wanting to wait out for a minor victory.
Do-yeon totally deserves her awards

The only reason I watched this was because of Jeon Do-yeon (being a fan of all things Korean) and her Cannes win.
I usually go for more commercially accepted laugh-a-minute shows but I surprisingly did not find Secret Sunshine too long or draggy.
I thought Jeon played the role well, displaying her emotional range but it's something quite a few Hollywood actresses can pull off too. Nicole Kidman comes to mind.
Correct me if I'm wrong but Song Kang-ho is a Seoulite.. and his Milyang accent was pretty decent. He stole the show for me too.
Overall, a good watch.

Hi fraulein, not too sure about Song Kang-ho being a Seoulite, but he's one of my favourite Korean actors, all the way back when Shiri hit the screens over here
