Gravatar oh gawd, puh-leez. there's nothing even remotely similar to Batman Begins. BB is a superhero film for adults, IM is for teenagers.

read this. no permalink, so scroll down to the IM review:

read it and understand why there's nothing similar.

Gravatar BB is not a superhero movie

There are many similarities in fact between Stark and Wayne, but I wouldn't go so far as to call Stan Lee a copycat, even though Bats was created in the 20s, and Iron Man in the 60s

movie wise, they are structurally similar as well, again I won't call it a copycat, but you can see the parallels there, if you choose to of course

Gravatar there is nothing similar between tony stark and bruce wayne except they're both rich.

bruce's burden is his guilt, which he learned to control. but what he learned was turned against him, and he became something else altogether. he TRANSCENDED. tony was a cool playboy who supposedly developed a conscience and then turned into a cool superhero. but what he does hardly reflects what he learned. the Iron suit is still a weapon.

that's the difference between the great Batman script and this teenage popcorn entertainment. Batman is great, but you don't wish to be him becos his price for being a hero is great. but everyone wants to be Iron Man, cos Iron Man lost nothing in the process. Iron Man is all about being cool and awesome.

Gravatar as for the whole Afghan thing, the "terrorists" are one-dimensional characters who only want world domination. what was the real issue in Afghanistan? in the real world, it's about America's past allies becoming current enemies. it's about the US govt's hegemony. in the real world, the Afghan insurgents are fighting to get rid of the occupiers. yes, the warlords want their hands on more land, but can you blame them? who came and blew up their country back to the stone age and made it a lawless free for all country?

my point is, in the movie, they should have used some unnamed fictional country. to use a real-life situation and distort the truth, that's damnable whichever way you choose to see it.

Gravatar >they should have used some unnamed fictional country. to use a real-life situation and distort the truth, that's damnable whichever way you choose to see it.

Wah La er ... if they name is as XYZ country, ppl will start to kao peh !!! and btw Marvel Comics normally base their events in real setting ... of cos will twist n turn events a bit .... like how they include Superhero that can fly in n out ....

>Regarding the "terrorists" are one-dimensional characters

Terrorist normally are one dimension in blockbuster movies ... U don't watch blockbuster movies to learn about their motivation and their sacrifice ...

Name me a Movie that does not use a real-life situation and distort the truth even a little tiny bit ?

Gravatar i feel that this movie is over-rated.. the cave part was funny

Gravatar Hi nat, erm, i don't find anything funny there leh
