I think this is the first time I have seen a Lutheran appeal to tradition.

We as christians are called to spread the new of God's grace, not to judge others, ultimately driving them away. In my UMC church, all are welcome to participate in the life of the church( including communion, baptism, lay ministry ,etc.). At my church, there is a lesbian family, with two kids. They are as welcome as any person. They are christians, and should not be judged. It is high time that we look at ourselves, and the sin of judgement. We should do what God has commanded us: "Love god with all your heart, mind, soul and strength, and love your neighbor as yourself". There is no greater commandment than this.
