Hello Dale,
Todd, like me, has been sentenced to the hockey purgatory of Kansas City.
I am a conservative (Thomist) Catholic and I like my liturgy very traditional. I disapprove of altar girls (or shabbily attired altar boys), liturgists, excessive use of eucharistic ministers, or innovation in music; I prefer communion on the tongue, good dollops of Catholic in my liturgy, and rigorous homilies. On nearly all of these items and others Todd and I (like Dale) differ to varying degrees. His Catholic sensibility is quite different from mine at points.
But for all that I regard Todd's as one of the essential Catholic blogs. He is unfailingly polite, charitable, and patient, despite (alas) the abuse he sometimes receives from conservatives and RadTrads. He is a rare Amchurch liberal who respects worshippers and more traditional forms of piety. In these and other ways Todd strikes me as a clear exemplar of a lived faith.
best regards,
Richard |

Peace & Greetings Dale and Richard.
Thank you for the kind words. I will point to many in the blogosphere who have unknowingly joined with my wife (you do not realize what fine company this is!) in being unfailingly patient with me when I am annoying and irritating.
Now, can I please, please get some kind of a hockey team? Cincinnati, you have two. Stop hogging the ice time.
