Comrade Price,
You were expecting team coached by former Nogoodnikistan agriculture minister Ex-Comrade Trotz, assisted by Ex-Comrade Boris Badenov, to advance beyond first round of Stanley Cup playoffs? Remember, this is same Ex-Comrade Trotz who promised big barley harvest in 1986 before being rendered non-person by apparachiks in Moscow. Serves him right for defecting to decadent West!
Party sources tell me Ex-Comrade Trotz wants to open Zil limosine dealership in Nashville.
So, Comrade Price, tell me? How are Fetisov, Larianov, Krutov, Tretiak and other members of Big Red Machine doing?

1. Congrats to Wings. Happy to see that according to Press Up North, they're seen as Evil Empire. Joins exclusive club with NY Yanks, Duke men's b-ball, UConn and UTenn women's ball. Excellence always triggers enemies. Besides, your boys might just face my Flyers for the Cup. Who, finally- FINALLY- have a goaltender up to playoff snuff in Robert Esche. Ripped thru NJ Devils and associated history. But all insignificant- with Devils' coach Pat Burns suffering from colon cancer. Must generate prayers from St. Blog's for his healing.
2. Couldn't watch the Pistons' beatdown of the Bucks too long yesterday. Bucks were shockingly unprepared for Pistons' defensive assault. Don't know what Joe Dumars will have to do to keep my homeboy Rasheed Wallace from succumbing to the bright lights of Broadway and NY Knicks (can't stand them, but Isiah Thomas has done a fabulous job remaking the roster on the fly.) Who looked awful in the beatdown given them Saturday by cross-state rival NJ N

1. Ditto on the prayers for Pat Burns.
2. As a SoCali, thanks for trading Roman Cechmanek (NOT!) to those tightwad Los Angeles Kings.

Joe D.-
Now we agree on something. Roman had emotional breakdown in '03 playoffs, ripped teammates, got shelled. Bob Clarke couldn't wait to ship him to Kings. Where his summer vacation started early. And/or extended sabbatical if NHL owners and players can't settle on Collective Bargaining Agreement. Adding to desperation already found in sports' most compelling pro playoff games.

As a Wings fan in Colorado, as long as they get to beat the Avs by 7 or 8 in the deciding game, I don't care what round it is in.
