Gravatar This is a technical comment. All of a sudden, i.e., yesterday, your page no longer "word wraps" and to read it I have to scroll across. This tends to make me dizzy. Any way you can fix it? It never did this before yesterday.

Woozily (not from drink),

Gravatar That's weird--It's not doing it on my screen. I'll see what the problem is.

Thanks!

Gravatar I changed something--did that do it?

Gravatar Bob Knepper? Wow. Talk about a blast from the past.

If he can toss to Biff Pocoroba, then we'd be someplace!

Gravatar Yes! Thank you! I was all out of Dramamine,

Gravatar P.S. Love your stuff!

Gravatar Sorry for the OT technical issue, but does anybody out there have a pipeline to Kathy Shaidle at Relapsed Catholic? The last few days, when one scrolls down below a certain point, all one sees is gobbledegook in increasingly tinier type. I didn't see an email link. Could somebody giver her a "heads up"?
Thanks.

Gravatar Signe: You're welcome--and thanks!

David: References to '80s Astros a specialty. For my money, Glenn Davis was the bomb--anybody who could rack up thirty dingers a season playing half his games in the Astrodome was gifted.

Biff Pocoroba? Braves fan during the bleak era, eh? Dale Murphy was the only guy I even distantly followed on that team, and for obvious reasons.

Gravatar You planning on blowing a 3-0 lead in the top of the 9th, Bob?

Gravatar Watched WGN & TBS all the time. Golden era for me - in college and able to watch basesball all of the time!

Davis was good until he left (for Baltimore wasn't it?). Funny how the 'dome alters the way players approach the game. My favorite Asto during that time - maybe earlier -was Jose Cruz. I think he was in the same category as Davis. He would've had monster career if not for the 'dome.

I'm starting to drive my wife crazy by watching ESPN Classics. Lately they've been showing a lot of games from the 80s. It's funny to see all of today's overweight base coaches when they were skinny atheletes 20 years ago.

Gravatar DP- awesome draft by your Lions. Clearly the best of any NFL team- filling legitimate needs with legitimate players. Joey Harrington has two shiny new weapons in Kevin Jones (from Chester, PA, not far from my environs) and Roy Williams. Teddy Lehman adds toughness and leadership at LB. Looks like Mooch & Co. will make noise in an NFC North ripe for the taking- with the rapid decline of the Packers. My fellow Iggles fans still puzzled by trading up to take an offensive lineman with too great a fondness for Wendy's Classic Doubles.

Gravatar Gerard,

The two best upcoming teams are Detroit and Chicago and I like them both, but, and this is a biggie, if Green Bay gets a defense (and a Favre backup), GB is still THE team to beat for two years. After that, though, it's up for grabs.

This from a cradle Packer fan!
