Exactly the point that Ralph McInerny made in an interview with EWTN's Raymond Arroyo. The kerfuffle following Vatican II led to two different hierarchies- the Rome-based bishops and the theologians. It was the latter group that led the charge against Humanae Vitae. Or other forms of ecclesial authority. And trained- or tried to train- a new generation to follow in their footsteps. Nothing new under the sun.

Hello Dale,
Well said.
The St. Joan's link was a nice touch.
The ten commandments drew from surrounding cultures so people in a Jewish community basically wouldn't kill one another.
Funny, but I had this odd idea that the ten commandments drew from Yahweh.
What I really love is how their history capsule devotes more time to "Post-Vatican II" than all the history before it.
