This new privileged class of RC bureaucrats filled the power vacuum created by the clerical exits of the GoGo60s. Would appear that our post 11/2/04 world makes them really really sad.
The living poor are clearly more important than the unborn. euthanasia doesn't seem to be common in this country and as far as i know neither party suported it. stem cell research protests are based on bad theology. human cloning is a legitment issue, only it isn't going to happen any time soon. people are just spooked about it. gay mariage is homophobia.
This sounds like the leadership is being sensible and the "grass roots" movement is just a bunch of loud mouth who are trying to ram their adgenda down everyone elses throats to use the language of the post.

A diocesean sociaL action director is, in the case of Allio, someone who makes posts of "10 challenges" on this diocesean Education site rather than his own ignored social action site.
However, the bishop of Cleveland took Allio's 10 to heart. At the latest meeting of the diocesean priests it was discussed at length and with with sympathy as I have been told. Each priest received a copy and Bp Pilla was concerened about a rising "fundy" group that is attempting to silence the activities of futurechurch in the diocese. We just have too much fun here.

I normally have a strong aversion to reading and commenting on posts like this one. When I consider the talent of inestimable value that has been spent kicking and punching the AmChurch Tar Baby--talent that in my mind could be used for greater things--it makes me thankful that I became and remain a Catholic in Italy.
But you've done an exceptional job here in demonstrating how the "consistent life ethic" is being used at least by some as a Trojan Horse smuggled into the American Church to promote the Culture of Death. You also showed that the battle is worth fighting because there are tangible and achievable objectives. Thanks for showing me why I should take more interest in this than I have up to this point.
