Gravatar Many congratulations to your son. May he have at least 98 more birthdays!

BTW, is "There Goes The Bulldozer" one of those Bob The Builder classics?

Gravatar Not quite--but it's in the same neighborhood. He gets the same rapt look watching that show, too.

"Bob the Builder" is one of Dale's demigods.

Gravatar Many happy returns!

Gravatar Happy birthday! Zteen was fascinated with "diggers" when he was two--His birthday cake had mini construction equipment on it, digging a hole into the cake. If Bob the Builder had been on then, I have no doubt we would have been engulfed with BtB sheets, towels, cups, plates, toys, etc, etc, etc.

What a wonderful age!

Gravatar Your son is right. "There Goes a Bulldozer" is a classic of the genre. My godson and I replay the explosions over and over again. Irwin Allen never did it better. But let's be clear about one thing: Bob the Builder is a new age dweeb compared to Construction Foreman Dave.

PS - we also give vigorous thumbs-up to "There Goes a Monster Truck".

Gravatar Mark:

Many thanks!

MamaT:

Zteen most assuredly would have been a member of the Cult of Bob--even my eldest daughter's a big fan. And oy, the merchandising...

I absolutely agree: a great, great age indeed. Which is why it's bugging me that it goes so fast.

Ralph:

Yes, I think Dave might have it all over Bob--apparently Dave getting run over is a big hit with both my toddlers. But Dale is fiercely devoted to Scoop. We'll see what repeated Dave exposure does for them.

Since they have a decidedly "Three Stooges-ish" sense of humor, they'll probably go on over. Tico the Squirrel getting bonked by acorns was endlessly hilarious to them.

"Monster Truck," eh? Sounds like a plan. "There Goes a Rescue Hero" (police and firemen) is right up their alley, too.

Gravatar Three Stooges sense of humor? My kind of guys. Has the older one tried the line slap on the younger ones yet? Moe Howard's techniques of effective governance might prove useful in a certain bureaucracy I could mention.

Gravatar Hi, Ralph. The kids haven't gotten into the slap-each-other brand of slapstick (yet), but that could be attributed to the fact that both siblings are girls.

The older one is just as interested in construction equipment as her brother, though. I decorated her underpants so she'd get them on frontwards, and a couple pair had to have tractors on them.
No kidding.
