Gravatar Think of all your ancestors who still had to plow the south forty, hunt, fish, trap, milk the cows, water the horses, work in the steel mill, mine, or stock yard slaughtering room and then tell us about your woes.

Gravatar John:

Um. OK.

[Scanning furiously to see where he tried to compare self to hardworking forebears as opposed to (attempting to) humorously describe an illness-based blogging absence.]

I could go into detail about the fact I worked every day (if abbreviated), kept a big promise to my wife and kids, and on and on.

But I have no interest in trying to justify myself to someone who desperately needs to lighten up.

Please do so--ASAP.

Gravatar Yeah, yeah, yeah, Price ... I'll bet the time was all spent in a drunken, depressive stupor after the Glorious Spurs Romp to Easy Victory.

Gravatar Well, I thought it was humourous and well-written so that evens out the score

Gravatar Welcome back to the living, DP. Yes, the Spurs were quite a bit better than your Pistons last Thursday night. Surely I wasn't the only one to notice that among the red and blue, only Rasheed was willing to hoist the 3-ball in the 2nd half. Or that the Spurs were taking care of the ball better, including offensive rebounds. Or that Tim Duncan had a Game 7 that propels him among the legends. Or that Manu Ginobli is as fun and exciting to watch as any athlete in professional sports. Or that the Larry Brown To Cavaliers rumors can be put to rest today- the Cavs have hired Danny Ferry, Dukie, marginal NBA player, Spurs Director of Basketball Operations- as Vice President/General Manager. Now go back to sleep.

Gravatar Think of all your ancestors who still had to plow the south forty, hunt, fish, trap, milk the cows, water the horses, work in the steel mill, mine, or stock yard slaughtering room...

And they still couldn't go to the ball.

Gravatar Sorry you've been sick, Dale. Been feeling pretty ragged myself, so I sympathize. I was thinking of you as I watched Game 7 ...

And, without the miracle of antibiotics, I'm afraid your ancestors with strep would have been laid up longer, and suffered longer-lasting after-effects. Maybe they would have been "bled" for the fever, and forever after been "delicate."

Gravatar Or dead....

Gravatar I don't think the Spurs are better. But they did win the series. Congratulations to them.
