One of my readers when I was commenting on the same story said he wished God would give him the Zachariah treatment.

Err...
Pardon my ignorance of OT matters, but what exactly is the "Zachariah treatment?"

Actually the Zachariah (or Zachary) in question hails from the Gospel of Luke. The "treatment" referred to is in Chapter 1, verse 20.

Remarkable restraint on your part, Dale. I haven't posted about Robertson's remarks on my blog because I don't think I could do so without getting an "R" rating. And I don't need to go down that road again.

The only thing as outrageous as Robertson's remark: Sharon's stroke could be God's punishment. Absurd? Presumptuous maybe, but how absurd? It is not as if you say God never punishes people, or removes world players, or sends disasters. Granted, he doesn't likely tip off Pat, but that does not explain the vitriolic response. The people who disdain him don't watch him, so why do they care what such a 'doofus' says? Amidst all his howlers there has never been one claiming Papal finese.
