Didja go to Assumption Grotto for Christmas Mass? I saw some beautiful photos over at New Liturgical Movement. Although I thought that Christmas trees in the sanctuary was a bit much. Fr. McNamara, the liturgist on Zenit who teaches in Rome, cautioned about Christmas trees in the church proper. Still, it did look so beautiful.

Fr. Stanley:
Nope. One of these days, as I have been saying for the past several years. The kids haven't yet acquired the necessary appreciation. IOW, we stayed at the home parish.
I was there for the outdoor Mass for the Assumption (in the actual Grotto), which was magnificent.

Speaking of Steyn, I like some of his articles, but on the demographics (as in "America Alone") he just gets the numbers wrong.
He does so grossly and repeatedly, and I'm sure it's been brought to his attention often. I can only conclude he's doing it deliberately

Mr. Stirling,
Care to elaborate? If I'm not mistaken, Steyn cites generally-accepted statistical tables from sources like the U.N.

Glad to know I'm not the only Catholic shameful enough to watch Reno 911. That show can just be unbelievably funny.
There's something missing from your list o' gifts - Nerf guns. We bought some for christmas, and non-stop foam-based assasinations, ambushes, and general skullduggery has ensued.
I finally went out and picked up one of their bigger guns, the Firefly. With an eight-shot barrel and glow-darts charged by a strobe light attached to the trigger...death has a new name.
Even the pregnant wife gets into the action.
