Gravatar Er, now the DVD is back in print. Good news--weird, but good.

Gravatar 1. I loved the Great Ages of Man series, particularly the Byzantium volume. I feel angry at myself for not finding a way to keep it. Ah well, c'est la vie.

2. Because of that volume, I took a Byzantine History course in college. The textbook for the course was History of the Byzantine Empire 2nd ed., in two paperback volumes, by A.A. Vasiliev, 1952 edition, 1978 reprinting. A very good book. I'm going to have to crack them open one of these days. Long Live the Empire!

Gravatar Dale, did you know about that "Byzantine Rulers" podcast? Apparently, it's pretty good stuff, though you may have gone beyond it now.

Maureen, always the last to learn about the cool stuff!

Gravatar This link's a tad less overworked on the bandwidth:

Gravatar Maureen:

No, I hadn't--and I'm definitely going to have a listen.

Thanks!

Gravatar PM:

That's about the fifth recommendation for Vasiliev--sounds like I better get it.

Just don't tell Heather....
