What's craziest is, I'm a relative nobody. And yet, if I disappeared for 4 days, COUNTLESS people would be calling around asking, "Where the heck is he?"
So, how can someone as prominent as the governor of a state think his absence won't be noticed???
At any rate, this is another opportunity to invoke John Profumo. The lesson Profumo offered is, if you've emnarrassed your family and your party, have the decency to withdraw from public life forever, and spend the rest of your life quietly trying to make amends and earn back a shred of self-respect.
