You may be right. Gaeta seems to be like Radar O'Reilly. He isn't the main character, but stuff happens around him alot.

I don't know about Gaeta. It's possible, but he seems to be too small for the big reveal, if you know what I mean. They have hidden the final cylon and intend to make the big reveal for maximum dramatic effect- Gaeda just doesn't seem big enough. Maybe Roslin.

For just one second, I was going to roar with a giant internet howl of rage and digitize myself and leap bodily through the DSL cable and throttle you for giving it away.
But then I saw you were just putting your bets in. So it's ok.
No Death to Dale week at Orwell's P.
But do try to be more careful in the future.

Hilary, I'm glad I spared Ol' Blighty another earthquake and myself an internet (and perhaps actual) pillorying.
I'll be more careful in the future. BTW, season 4 doesn't start up for another two weeks, so unless I develop precognition, you have nothing to fear until at least mid-month.

Bear:
But neither Tori nor Anders were big fish, either. Gaeta would definitely be bigger than those two. As PtMD said, a lot of important things happen around him. Plus, he has no backstory issues to get in the way.
In a way, I think the "bigness" of Roslin, Starbuck and the Adamas works against trying to reveal one of them as the final Cylon. Dramatically speaking, it could boomerang back on the show.

The fact that Tori and Anders were small fish seems to work to my point: They're saving the last one for a reason. It has to be significant.
At any rate, I'm looking forward to it.

Or maybe the evil Dick Cheney. Can't you see it? The Galactica finally reaches earth only to find the planet terrorized by the final cylon ... George W. Bush and his evil minion Dick Cheney.
Or is it the other way around?

My feelings precisely.
Gaeta seems the most likely bet. But is he big enough for the Final Cylon? I'm just not sure. Frankly I was surprised he was not among the four just revealed.

Heh...well, thanks Jay.
I really do think the half-Cylon children are the key here, and for all the focus that has been placed on Hera I'm almost 100% certain that Helo will be the final Cylon.
There is a SLIGHT possibility that it could be Cally as well, since she is the other person who has successfully had a kid with a Cylon.
The point, I guess, is that Cylon reproduction has been such a persistent theme in the series, and (to me, at least) that one of the most dramatic plot-points they could touch on with regard to the final Cylon is if s/he had successfully had a child with another Cylon.

I watch it on DVDs too, SAM. But I think, for this new season, I'm either going to talk my wife into adding the Space Channel (Canada, you see...) to our cable package.
That, or I'll be reading the episode synopsis every week on Battlestar Wiki.

Is she? That's what we've been told thus far, but the same could be said of lil' baby Nicholas as well. Why is Hera significant to the plot, but not Nicholas?
Cylon reproduction has been a major theme of the series -- what better way to close that plot thread off than with the revelation that Cylons can, in fact, reproduce?

Tonight's episode REALLY seemed to allude to Gaeda as the final cylon. It's probably not a question of 'if', but more of a question of 'why'.

Agreed. The music seems to be a pretty strong clue (remember the other four awakening to music), and I think the lyrics foreshadow something down the road.

Yeah, I'm re-thinking my Gaeda position. Out of the blue they are suddenly paying attention to this character. Is it a red herring or not?
He still doesn't seem important enough... at least, not yet.

Question: To whom was Diana Apologising?
Was it Tigh, because she took out his eye, or the fifth cylon?
If the unrevealed, to whom would she be particularly apologetic?

Hi there! Well it is easy when you break it down. What do we know? We know for a fact that the final cylon is not in the picture. We know that most likely it will be a female (to make it the same as Greek gods, and let;s face it to just be a little fair!) We also know that Cylons and Cylons can breed, ie Tigh and Caprica Six. We also know that Caprica Six could "Feel" that the five were close at the start of season 4, but when D'Anna gets on board in "Revelations" she said there are now only 4. It is Cally. She had a "headache" since the nebula which was obviously a malfuntcion with her trigger. Also, Tyrol's sub conscious almost beat her to death at the end of season 2 because he could sense she was a Cylon. Also, D'Anna had her listed for execution on New Caprica, which fits with the "I had no idea,... please forgive me" line in the Temple in "Eye of Jupiter".

I know who the final cylon is, read on!
If you look at the last supper picture of bsg and the last supper with jesus and compare the two, specifically compare the people in each picture.
Ron Moore stated that the final cylon was with the show from the beginning and is not in the last supper bsg picture. He also stated that the clues to the final cylon can be found the bsg last supper picture and also in previous episodes.
So, we are left with a few choices. Dualla, Gaeta, Tom Zarak, Doc Cottle and maybe a few others.
Now, compare the two last supper pictures and you see that judas' position in the original last supper corresponds to the empty place in the bsg last supper.
Now you can make the comparison, as others have, that baltar is a jesus figure in the new picture and has gone through almost a jesus like scenario with the exception of being found guilty and executed. He was betrayed, tried and found innocent, and went through a sort of painful rebirth to become a messiah of sorts.
Now, maybe it's this simple, but who betrayed jesus........judas of course.
who betrayed baltar.................
Gaeta purgered himself on the witness stand, in essence betraying his former boss on New Caprica!
I trully believe that gaeta is the last cylon.

It is Cally. Look to the words of the Razor Hybrid. He said, concerning the fifth: And the fifth, still in shadow, will claw toward the light, hungering for redemption that will only come in the howl of terrible suffering. Cally's death sequence fits the utterance exactly.

I think you're right on! I really hope Gaeta is the final cylon, because he's one of my favorite characters next to Chief or, Specialist. Also, James Callis has even begun to look like DaVinci's Jesus with the hair, and later in the season people seem to think he's a miracle worker, and he gets his own band of followers (disciples?).
