Oh please. So-called, self-proclaimed "Conservatives" are no more put upon than any other group of "philosophical distinction". Conservative voices have largely been vocal and domineering for more than a decade. They enjoyed an extended and highly indulged moment in the sun, when their collective voice rang loud and clamorous, intent on overwhelming any opinion the least amount oppositional.
There has been the hue and cry that being anything other than (ultra) conservative was unAmerican, and the offending party was "rightly" subjected to ridicule, scorn and unsubstantiated rumor as if it were fact, and the "other" had surrendered all rights to their opinions and voices, simply because of being the other.
Conservative pundits complaining about being unfairly ridiculed or harshly assessed is the epitomy of hypocrisy and hubris. More of the same ole' same ole, "He who shouts loudest and casts about the ugliest commentary wins by sheer persistence and repetition." Fact is always optional.
That any of the higher profile conservatives cry, "Foul!" is ludicrous, and to me reinforces their break with reality.
OMHO.

I can't read tone when reading blog comments but you and Pitts are agreeing with each other (as am I).
My main point to everyone is "stop whining."

Yes! Yes! Yes! We really are all in this together, riding on this rock, hurtling through space.
God's direction for us is far richer, and simpler, than mainstream culture. Hence our pleasure (obligation, duty just doesb't fit)it IS our PLEASURE to follow Christ's lead, and to demonstrate the power of his grace, and share it with thee world.
One person at a time.
I am enamoured with the notion that we matter, each of us matters, and when we give of ourselves to others, to our immediate circle and whomever we encounter, it is meaningful.
No matter how simple the gesture, we can serve Christ and effect others' lives.
Praise be to God!
It's frustrating and heart-wrenching when there is so much discord in our culture. When disrespect and ill-mannered rantings are the norm.
Give me the sanity of Christ's Grace! Let me live in simple quiet, living the peace and gratitude Christ blessed me with. A frail and flawed human beng, but there are moments when my words and actions reflect the miracle of Christ's Grace.
Wow. What more could anyone ask or imagine?
