WOW! And now they're all on the no-fly list. Still it's refreshing.

I'm proud to be an American
where at least I know I'm free,
And I won't forget the men who died
who gave that right to me,
And I gladly stand up next to you
and defend her still today,
'Cause there ain't no doubt I love this land
God Bless the U.S.A.

I wish there was fund to help pay for their books this term. I'd be writing a check right now.

I saw a bit of his speech on TV and our 'liberal media" didn't show these patriotic protestors - only Gonzo droning on blah, blah (he is a terrible speaker). Sad that the media didn't see the need to show these thoughtful, brave students standing up to protest an adminstration so focused on taking away our freedoms. We thank them for their inspiration. "Freedom doesn't come like a bird on the wing . . . you've got to live for it, die for it . . . and all generations got to do it all again."

That news item also states;
"Last week, Gonzales sent leaders of Congress a 42-page legal defense of warrantless eavesdropping which suggests that the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act is unconstitutional if it prevents the NSA's warrantless eavesdropping."
So, FISA is unconstitutional because it defends the 4th ammendment?
The time to start drinking just got moved up early today.

I have a lot of respect for lawyers trained by Jesuits (Georgetown) - it is nearly impossible to beat them in a debate, and as noted elsewhere, if those folks turned their backs, then you know how awful and untenable the Administration's position is.

I first saw this done to John Dubya Howard, after he crushed the native title act. His voice went a little shaky.
I predict this tactic will be copied, and may just lose it's impact quickly.

God love the fearless, dedicated young! Who dares dismiss them as misguided while the military is attempting to bribe or cajole them into "making sacrifices, staying the course, and bringing democracy to Iraq"? It's those young bodies that the Administration wants to put at risk, NOT those of its high net worth and corporate supporters.
Good-o, kids!

These law students will graduate and run for public office, but not as Republicans. Perhaps some Democratic Senators will see what these students have done and get the courage to have a similar demonstration.
