Photography is in your head. Composing scenes that you see or setting up scenes that you dream up. All you need a camera for is to have the ability to show those scenes to other people. You can't tweek the images until you've caught them and you can't make bad shots good with colors or shading or computer photo workshop.

From what I've seen you already have a pretty good eye. I'm surprised that you hadn't had a class before. Go pick the teacher's brain then hit the bookstore and look at Ritts, and Liebowitz, and others for ideas.

It's all been done before. Just add your spin to it. Create what pleases YOU. Everybody's a critic. Don't listen too much to them.
