I studied film and some of the basic principles still apply in terms of the camera.

You'll find lighting to be the hardest part of all. It's probably alot easier for photography then it is film.

I wonder if the three point system applies to photography. Backlight, Keylight, and Fill light. Remember to give me a copy of your porno debut. Tee hee hee

Minolta's are great cameras. I have one from the 70's and it's the most complicated fucking thing on the planet but it takes the best photo's.
