Gravatar When I follow the Canadian media today I'm reminded of some words by Winston Churchill, " lies will be more than halfway across this country before the truth get it's pants on." I changed his words a little bit, but they still apply.
The lack of veracity by our media is a blight on our democracy. My words this time and I truly believe them.

Gravatar I believe the right honourable Stephen Harper said something like:

"In the old days the enemy carried guns now they carry cameras instead"

This was an obvious bash at the MSM who were attacking him of his position on Israel just before he left France...It was kept under raps too.

Gravatar Way to talk about important things Mr. Prime Minister.

Besides, if it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck...

Gravatar Steve? Steve Harris? Mike's Brother? Is that you?

Gravatar Stephen, he responded to a question posed to him.

If he had said "that's not an important question, let me talk about something important instead" you'd criticize him for dodging the question.

Gravatar metalguru, those weren't his exact words. CTV was running a spot on newsnet that showed him at a somme battlefield, where he was taking the reporters through the scene, and describing what it was like to them. Harper stood in a trench pointing across the former battlefield to where enemy positions used to be, while reporters stood in front of him with cameras. Harper then commented that, during the war, machine guns would be facing that way, not cameras. While the MSM portrayed this a swipe at them by the PM, anyone watching could clearly see that Harper was just making a joke that, unlike our soldiers of long ago, harper had cameras facing his way, not guns. His intent was to show how much more serious of a situation those soldiers faced, while today the battlefield lies silent.

Gravatar Ah. You beat me to it.
