Georgia have no oil. But it have a land for US military base with its missiles aimed to Russia. Great Liar Bush said at Olimpic games in China that America don't need any war but US plains relocated Georgia troops from Iraq. Do You know really why? For osetia people genocide. Or all You are so silly to believe that Russia invaded to Georgia if battles are takin' place not ina Georgia territory? I try to tell You truth that You dont read in your media - Saakashvili troops are killing children, women and oldmen. First aims for their bomb was not army objects but schools, hospitals and institute. The capital of Osetia was totally destroyed before Russia starts to help.
What about the Russian invasion of Georgia is shocking? I would agree that it is shocking that the Russians have now sent their troops beyond the territory of South Ossetia. It's also shocking that the mainstream media and the rightwing blogosphere have successfully rendered this conflict into "The New Cold War" without even an ounce of interest in the people of South Ossetia or the origins of the conflict.
No one dares criticize Saakashvili for initiating the violent ground invasion of Tskhinvali, killing innocent South Ossetians, 70% of whom have Russian citizenship, not to mention provoking and killing Russian peacekeepers who were legally allowed to keep the peace in South Ossetia under a ceasefire agreement acknowledged by Russia, South Ossetians, Georgia, and the international community. No one dares criticize Saakashvili. He speaks English well, went to Columbia Law, and wants to join NATO. Forget the facts, he's our ally whether he's a good guy or not.
How did this conflict start, how do we end it, and what to do about the humanitarian crisis?
Doesn't matter right? Big bad commie Russia invaded cute little innocent Georgia. According to you, that, and the fact that the left like totally sucks, is all one needs to know about this conflict.
