If Blogs are Conversations... Let's Talk!

Arrggh! Some people in gyms can be so annoying! Hopefully they'll read this post and decide to be more thoughtful of others. :)

Courtesy? Yes. Common? Not so much anymore. There seems to be a higher percentage of me-centric people each year.

The cell phone seems to really bring it out. That person talking on the phone in the gym was probably showing the same awareness of her environment as when she drives.

It seems there used to be people who wandered around doing a bit of monitoring. Now there is announcement about 2 times a day that staff has to do a walk=through mainly to get materials that have been carried off, and return them to their proper place.

Staff cuts or a fear of angering patrons may have decreased this activity. And I never thought of going to the front desk and just saying; can you talk to this person?

It sure frustrates me.. and is the height of rudeness.

Doesn't the gym have staff that monitor this kind of behavior? When I use to use the treadmill before my yoga class, I'd see the staff working the room. If someone was stalled on a piece of equipment, they would subtly get them off the equipment and onto something else. Seemed to work well to maximize equipment usage and keep the customers happy.
