This memo thing is not ging to snowball here across the ocean if more people don't mobilize to ask the preznit what's the deal with those papers. Remember the Downing Street Memos meme from last summer? What happened to that, anyway?
These people count on our short attention span, and we shouldn't let them get away with it.
Monk, yer dead right on this one. Bush's apparent inclination to bomb Al-jazeera in Qatar was ... misguided is a charitable way of putting it. And not only because Qatar was not militarily involved. I equally abhor Wesley Clark's decision to target Radio Television Serbia as well as (perhaps) other civilian infrastructure in Yugoslavia in 1999. Unfortunately, there was no one to successfully quash that plan.
Good stuff, as always. I don't know where you find the time to do it all, but keep it up. I don't agree with all that you say, but you wield a sharp pen and mouse.

You've pinpointed our differences once again, damn it.
While I see the similarities from a distance, I must say that differences become much more apparent up close.
As I explained that night on the steps, I truly believe that Clinton, and thus Clark, were operating to stem a genocide being commited by the serbs. The fruition of a promise that Clinton made after sitting on his hands during the Rawandan massacre.
Milosevic was utilizing the airwaves to spout a one sided version of his brand of hate on the general populace. I believe the term in Nazi Germany was "Hate Radio". Thus, it made their transmitors a propogandist, if not military, target.
That, to me, is a far cry from the independent (although throughly islamic) Al Jazeera television. The major difference being that while it reported on Afghanistan and Iraq, it is a privately owned media organization operating throughout the middle east.
Bush didn't target the Doha headquarters initally. He only targeted them after things really started to sour in Iraq.
You have to admit that the fact that the Al Jazeera offices being bombed in Afghanistan in 2001 and then the Baghdad offices in 2003 is now very discomforting if that memo proves itself.
