Gravatar "Scooter and the Shark!" Awesome...one of my favorites from the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. Haven't been there in years but remember the painting from my youth. Great one, Monk.

Gravatar Wuh...this painting gave me nightmares as a kid, always evoked a visceral response. First time I can say I've really enjoyed seeing it. Thanks, Monk!

Gravatar You're welcome Rayne. Thanks for stopping by.

I see I am not alone in this painting having an impact on my youth as well.

I hadn't thought of the therapeutic effect this version might have for those frightened by the original.

-Monk

Gravatar What I enjoyed a lot what the text that came with the picture. I find it more terrifying than the painting above. I wish I could say I don't wish that to my worst enemy, but I'd be lying. I do wish it upon Scooter and his buddies--seven times sevenfold, as they say in the old book.

Gravatar It made me think of Scanlon. There are a lot of nervous people who probably wish him - not well.

Gravatar beautiful and terrifying, for all of us. thank god for the barbs....

Gravatar The mirror surface of the prison shower floor is not comforting to Scooter as he laboriously bends over, while on crutches, to retrieve his soap, which is hopelessly squished in the ensuing frenzy of "home boys". Monk, please, no graphic, I am fighting to get this image from hell out of my head post-haste.
