Air America has been talking about this for a couple of weeks. I first heard it on "The Majority Report" two or three weeks ago.
Limbaugh keeps upping the ante on the egregious index.

I think you are way off base here. No Kornservative would EVER fleece the Amurkan people or misuse funds. Would DeLay? Would Cunningham? Would Abramoff? Would Frist? Would Pat Robertson? Would Oral Roberts? Would Dick Cheney and Haliburton? Would the whole Bush administration in the reason for the Iraqi war? Your asserstion are just beyond belief!

This little program of his should be indictable for ripping off soldiers.
Support our Troops??? Not Rush, he wants them to support Him.
Today is World Aids Day, Monk. Any thoughts?

I am embarrased that my town is where Rush got his Right-Wing radio career off to its start.
Love your graphics Monk. Keep up the good work.

Monk- I haven't seen this in the mainstream media- I think you (and all of us in the liberal blogosphere) need to write select organizations in the mainstream media like chris mathews, cnn, and even IMUS (I think he'd run with this) and reach out to liberal watch groups like mediamatters.org and thinkprogress.org.
I'd love to see this hypocrit get called on this. He epitomizes the bullshit patriotism of the right.
good work.

Silliness. Pure silliness.
I will say, though, it's not uncommon for people of Rush's magnitude to fetch that kind of money for a newsletter. In fact, I'd be willing to bet $49.99 is indeed a discount. I HATE to stick up for the guy, but that part of the scam I don't really find fault with.
The rest of it stinks to high heaven.

Maybe, but no steak knives thrown in...no slicing, no dicing...the RonCo product lines give better incentives and have more practical applications in the theatre of operation. I'd rather think a Ron Lapre newletter would have about as much morale boosting value.

I did a little research and I found that the normal rate for his newsletter and 24/7 online access is $59 per year. So he is kicking down a $10 discount.
I still say it's a scam because his material is so contrived, light on actual content and full of fabricated lies. Plus, his newsletter is frought with advertisements for his schwag.
In addition, would it really put a dent in Rush's humongous pocketbook if he just donated a few pallets of these newsletters to the soldiers? Honestly, he's the big backer of the troops... put your newsletter where your mouth is.
This just makes him look bad any way you cut it.

Monk, has this thread been your attempt to get someone to donate a Limbaugh subscription to Inflatable Dartboard editorial board? For research purposes only, of course.
I'd rather donate a Chia pet, in the likeness of Limbaugh.

Its a total scam. First of all, if he really wanted to help out the troops he would do it without strings attached he wouldnt send them newsletters he would send them stuff they really needed or wanted and he wouldnt try to make money off of it- they guy is a millionaire many, many times over. That he cant seem to just volunteer time or care packages or anything for the troops says a lot about his so-called patriotism.
Most people, when they do something for the troops, dont make money off it.

There's this awful hate radio guy here in the Sacrmento market who I heard just a bit from on the way back from seeing "Good Night and Good Luck." Anyway, he was spewing forth his theory/stereotype about the grooming attributes and appearance of liberal women. [This idiot likes to pick on Cindy Sheehan in particular.] He made some horrible generalities and thankfully, both men and women called his show to set him straight. Why am I writing about this? Well, I was thinking that I hold some negative stereotypes about how right-wing men look. I think many of them look like hogs. Just think of all the round, pasty-faced conservatives that come to mind: Rush, Rove, Tomlinson, Scotty....So, while Monk is a master at photoshop, I imagine it was rather easy to make Rush look like a hog. I mean, I see him that way all the time.
Monk - hope you're feeling better.

It would be interesting to see how limbaugh would react if he were told that a bunch of his listeners were instead donating their own newsletters (once they've been read) to the soldiers and using the 49.95 to buy supplies for the soldiers instead of giving it to rush. I doubt there'd be anything he could do about it, and if he did complain, it would make him look like a troop hater.

What you li-boor-al jackanapes have failed to mention is that that donation also gives the soldier a subscription to Rush's 24/7 website where they can listen to Rush's program at any time of the day or night, as well as have access to hundreds of pages of archival material. Now I realize that you believe his site is a wasteland of lies and hatemongering but your blind hatred of Rush is once again allowing you to showcase your ignorance. Good Work!
