Even when these digital versions work, I'm not a big fan. I prefer that people repurpose content for the Web.
But in lieu of that, there are some fun products out there for digital editions.
Too bad CPA Technology Advisor doesn't have a feedback function on their site (at least not one I could find amid the clutter.) I'd love to know what the readers have to say about this

I wonder if my experience was an isolated case? (Though I doubt it). I haven't had problems with other digital zine readers I've tried, and I generally like what I see in the nascent digital edition market.

Thanks for sharing your experience. Just to share with you that I have just tried opening the CPA magazine from the "The CPA Technology Advisor" link, and did not encounter any of the issues that you had highlighted. In fact, I had a very smooth experience. I could easily find the magazine (flipping icon) on the same page, and the pages loaded and flipped pretty quickly.

Is it possible that the network was slower than usual when you were viewing the magazine, or there were too many applications running on your computer at the same time? Perhaps downloading the offline version will help?

I was just throwing off some ideas. I hope you will have a better experience the next time.
