Will you please send in your application for head of Blackpool tourist board, before I do it for you? I used to go up there every Preston Holiday Week, which was, I think, the second week of July, and reading these so evocative posts I miss it something rotten. But can you stil ride donkeys on the beach? And is the Crazy Golf near the North Pier (behind the Metropole) still there? As well as Madame Tussaud's and Ripley's Believe It Or Not? Oh, and the Tower Ballroom and its Wurlitzer?

You can still do all that and it is all still there... except the crazy golf near the Metropole. This area is now just a (messy) gardens, where Edward pooped the other week. It would have gone unnoticed amongst all the other mess that needed tidying up.

..........errrrrrrr.........and Nigel, you still CAN play Crazy Golf in front of the Metropole. Sorry bout that. The winter dullness blinded me to the fact that it is still there. When the sun temporarily came out last week, the 'holes' were painted bright red, white and blue, which really made them stand out and, therefore, visible to my naked and short-sighted eye.
