I prefer car travel; no mixing with the proletariat, and most of my petrol is paid for.

You can pick up a complete set of those cycling maps from the London Visitor Centre in Lower Regent Street. Not that I have, of course (cough).

It's perfect for Central Park.

A single speed bike? Gosh... I'm impressed. I have a fifteen speed one but usually only use 2 but just one would be hard work.
I also want to hear the scooter selling story.

..and I like this bit from the TFL cycling site... "London... has a similar climate to Denmark".... Denmark is in Scandiwegia isn't it? Where moose, snow and Santa come from?

It was very sunny when I went. Why! I got a little sunburn whilst strolling through the Tivoli Pleasure Gardens, which were a pleasure and open.

we like to visit new cities 'out of season' (stockholm, last winter, was lovely). besides, when one makes biennial visits to magic mountain and cedar point, seeing the tivoli gardens closed is not too traumatic.
touche miss.

As soon as I'd posted I remembered you'd been there.... both of you.... are you sure you didn't see any meese (correct plural of moose... I've checked).
Mrs.Planarchy's grandparents were from Denmark and they were always talking about the meese......
We were going to go last year but went to Prague instead.... which was also nice (but no moose).

I think that 'meese' is plural for mouse. They have lots of mouses in Denmark.

You can also manipulate the TfL journey planner into planning your cycle route for you. Go to the journey planner and deselect all of the modes of transport then scroll down and select Use Cycle and Ride and increase your cycle time. when you do search if you look at the pdf start or end map underneath it are step-by-step cycling instructions. Don't know why they don't make more of it because it's dead clever to be able to plan routes where cycles can go and cars can't.
