Good to see the Clash at number 1 though I'm not one of the million that claimed to be at that particular gig.
The Clash are my number 1 also, however, 25th October 1981 at The Lyceum... my 21st Birfday and definitely the best gig I've been to.
I suppose I'll have to go out and buy the issue to see if any of my other faves are in there (or if I made it to any of their top 100).

HAving now seen the whole list I'm rather diappointed to say I only made #41... The Gang of Four/Stiff Little Fingers/The Human League/The Fall/The Mekonsat the Lyceum in March '79
But it was a really great gig... very interesting, I may have to write more

Why didn't Steps at Wembley Arena in 1999 - supported by a host of talent including Lolly - make this list?
Each Steps member had the chance to showcase their own very special talents, as well as demonstrating as a group just why we loved them all so much. Twas a magical evening and I still have my light-up Steps wand.

"No13. Soft Cell farewell show at Hammersmith palais, January 10 1984. An event apparently."
This is a dumb Yank question, but was Softcell popular in Britain? I played a Softcell song for a British friend, and he had *never* heard of them. I was absolutely flabbergasted, because they were so much a part of my childhood/adolescence.
