I've been wanting to hear something by ESG for the past 21 years now. About time I got round to it...

Saw A Certain Ratio live in 1980. They all wore baggy khaki shorts and were quite funky - and they woke me up after I'd slept through Echo & The Bunnymen.

I had a Kirk Brandon haircut & bleach job, but never rated the music.

Have you heard both the "Disco Not Disco" comps? Marvellous stuff.

Remember The Fire Engines? Get Up And Use Me, Candyskin, and the one with the raw meat on the sleeve?

Remember that wildly pretentious TV show called Riverside, with a presenter called Nicky Picasso? And how all their guests said things like "Um, we're just getting into exploring video as a medium" because it sounded cutting edge? Wacky hairdo central, that program. Never missed it!

loved riverside. finger on the pause button on my video machine every week. 1st time new order were on telly was on that show. loved it. still got the tapes!
saw the 'disco not disco' comps while shopping. but i have a fair bit of that stuff from my obsessive 'ze' days. nona hendryx, lizzy mercier etc.
