Hi madmommy....I am "old" (65 in January) but I have a bit of an advantage because my profession has been higher education IT for more than 20 years. But since I've been in management for 15 of those years, I've lost a lot of my techie skills. It's kinda frustrating to be reduced to walking when you used to run, technically speaking.
As for a new name for us "firepups" when we're hanging out in the tree house, I wonder if something appropriate goes with therapod or TRex -- what do they call dino babies, anyway? Something prehistoric needed?

So...technically I'm not really old (almost 43) but definitely not tech savvy and certainly stubborn regarding change. Just biding my time till the kids are a teensy bit older so I'll have my own live-in tech support. The little guy at 4 is already going right to his pre-school sites and he's not even reading yet.
Morning Therapups (does that work?). Hi TRex. I'm glad Prex is working on the new house. Camping here in the tree house is cool for a bit, but like camping, pretty soon you want all the comforts of home.
On that subject, I share my late father's view. He said "camping was staying at a hotel without room service".

ALL of my grandkids (ages 5 - 14) are *very* tech savvy, and it's fun to watch, albeit from a distance (2-1/2 hours driving). But for the moment, I have the coolest toy in the family -- an iPhone -- so Grandma has creds! When I visited at Thanksgiving, everyone had to take a turn, so now I have youtubes of my grandson's guitar riffs and a weather forecast for someplace in Mongolia on the iPhone. I love it!

Just delurking to bring this to attention. I have enjoyed TRex (often the soul of fdl) since he became a front pager. Often I introduce people to fdl through TRex. He can be sensitive and sarcastic and all the ranges in between. I look forward to his development as he moves out on his own. Still waiting for the book.
