Is Pamela really the former publisher of the New York Observer? I tried Google, but no luck. I did find her old blog at http://atlasshrugs.blogspot.com/. Her photo there is the same except less cropped and well worth a click.

ForNow asked "Is Pamela really the former publisher of the New York Observer?"
In the blog post I cited, Pamela wrote that she is a former publisher of the Observer. Otherwise, I do not have any evidence one way or the other (despite a brief Google search). That's why I used "apparently" in the citation.

I understood that that's why you used "apparently," and I found that I felt the same way once I looked at her blog. I meant only to specify my topic, I didn't mean to suggest that you had failed to be wondering. Looking at her blog, one feels that she doesn't seem like somebody who would publish a newspaper like the NY Observer. Having looked at her remarks again, I'd say that what she meant is that she was put in charge of NY Observer for a while by the publisher Arthur Carter. Speaking of the NY Observer and The Nation, she says "Both publications were under Arthur Carter's umbrella of vanity press...."
The other half of the reason that I commented was just to mention the photo of her at her old Website.
