Without getting too much into the specification, it seems to be that this would be a decent step forward for RDFa, as well.
If you referred to a person as an object on the web, their email address translating to their other triple 'properties' would be a unique identifier... or even an organization (which would also translate to an address), which would then contain even more relationships to email addresses (or, rather, people objects).
It's definitely a lot more solid than, say, referring to a person by their About Page. Granted, your email can change, as well -- but one would assume that's where a service like OpenID should chime in as a redundancy.
