In a similar fashion to Chatmaker, WyldRyde.org can be used to make IRC chatrooms for free and provides a free flash client. It is used on sites as popular as ChrisPirillo.com. So it can handle load, BUT it does take a lot more expertise, than the elegang ChatMaker.com site.
