Gravatar Wait...

Obama's got an insurpassable lead with about 22 days left...right?

How are McCain and Palin to pull this out of their asses? I mean, you'd have to have something worse than WWI and the Great Depression combined, because either one separately wouldn't do it...and keep the 21st Century level of technology and society (a difficult job for a fiction writer, much less the "Israeli-ruled US government" so many on Crooks and Liars are afraid of (FYI for you Anti-Judaic assholes, why don't you just say "Elder of Zion," instead? Same lie, just sounds slightly more elegant), and which makes me question how many Crooks and Liars fellows are Nazis in disguise) just to give them a slight chance of overcoming Senator Obama.

Guy's got it in the bag. Which means a messy nuclear war with the Pakistanis as opposed to a quicker death from the Russians.

Gravatar Sarah was a unitary executive theorist before it was cool

Gravatar Dave - Have you seen any indication that Palin's national exposure will change Alaskans' perception of her?

Gravatar A letter to the Tennessean editor today claimed Palin's wink means she's on our side instead, I suppose, of speaking to us in "condescending tones of Asian intellectual supremacy," as the writer described the Indian-American (dot, not feather) columnist who recently wrote an article about Sarah Palin.

I've got an idea! If the press can get close enough, let's agree to accept blinking as an acceptable response to policy questions. Once for yes and twice for no.

Gravatar "policy questions. Once for yes and twice for no."

Lol wonderful idea!I recomend this one:D

Gravatar I thought the wink meant "the fix is in."

Gravatar If Sarah Palin suddenly becomes exceptionally loquacious toward the press, we could agree to accept morse code too and maybe employ semaphore for those voters who can't get close enough to see her eyes batting like a frog in hailstorm.

Gravatar great job today on cnn, dave, and i am especially impressed by your refusal to let unfounded implications get into the cw, even when such implications favor the left agenda.

in other words, you are a stickler for real facts. ie, when sanchez said palin attended the aip conventions in 2006 and 2000, you quickly pointed out that you didn't have proof that she attended the 2000 convention.

your attention to detail and insistence on sticking to reality makes you even more credible to the world at large.

of course, since you are the best writer in blogtopia and yes, i coined that phrase, you have always been credible to me.

Gravatar Good interview Dave! Too bad you didn't get a chance to note on air that Palin is sending a real dogwhistle to the AIP by wearing that polar bear pin she is so fond of

Gravatar Dave, skippy and Doug A beat me to it, I too thought you were excellent on CNN.

Gravatar Just saw the CNN clip on the internets... good work. And as skippy noted, delightfully free of fabrications. I still thought the anchor guy was a major tool though. I guess calm and sober doesn't sell anymore.

Gravatar Early voting observations:

Today is the first day of Tennessee early voting. The turnout was surprisingly large. Until today, the longest wait I endured was roughly 20 minutes. This time around the line was considerably longer. Including the time it took to caste my ballot I was at the public library for approximately 70 minutes.

I was not particularly happy about the nature of the conversations going on around me which included some brief talk about the Left Behind books and a younger man directly behind me informed a women in line with us that his church is 98% Republican to which she responds, "That's good!" (Isn't pluralistic democracy grand?)

Despite declarations by fellow voters to turn the red tide, Tennessee is solidly Republican which is why I largely vote without an attachment to the outcome. Much like 2000 when I voted for Ralph Nader, even if all Independent voters cast their ballots for the Democrat they would still lose (IMHO) 9 of 10 statewide elections.

In no particular order and without naming candidates, this is how I voted today:

Democrat
Democrat
Democrat
Independent*
Independent*
For
Against

* In the state of Tennessee, political party candidates other than Democrat or Republican are listed on the ballot as Independent. One of the Independent candidates for whom I voted is actually a Green.

Gravatar I thought the wink meant "I'm really Chris Rock incarnated into this body..."

Gravatar I've been reading an Anchorage newspaper, and it seems that Palin is still a viable politician in AK. I was really hoping her appearance in the lower 48 would destroy her career at home.

The Anchorage Daily News columnist I read thought she's offended both Dems and Repubs, but claims she can repair the damage. Where's an anvil when ya need one?

Gravatar hay every one its me: Barack Obama
