The Dawn Patrol: Comments

T.A.S.H. the Inexorable.

"It is suggested in the book that he is opposed to Aslan; by implication, he is Satan to Aslan's Christ in the allegory. This is illustrated by the reactions of the main characters to his presence: they talk of smelling a foul smell and of the air growing cold when he passes near to them.

It should be noted that those Calormen who honored Tash as 'good,' upon their death, are counted as having honored Aslan"

???
Anyone want to explain that one? Devoutly worshipping evil makes a person good?

If PP wants to avoid the C.S. Lewis comparison, they could use a snappy acronym like...

Smart Living Uninihibited Teens.

Actually...its simply doing good, even if it is unwittingly in the name of an evil entity, that was the message of Aslan regarding the good Calormene.

Let's not forget Leigh Hunt's Abou be Adhem.

That should be "ben," of course.

Don't forget that in The Last Battle the Calormenes were running around proclaiming, "Tash is Aslan, Aslan is Tash"
A further parallel to PP's proclaiming something evil to be good.

all i can really contribute is: roflmao.

P.R., the examples Lewis gave were of folks who had been raised as followers of Tash, who never knew Aslan, but who had been honorable, just, and merciful in the name of the only god they knew. Satan cannot accept such sacrifices. Only God can.

Absolutely hilarious. They don't hide their real colors anymore, do they?

'Aslan help us' indeed!

There's obviously a mole in PP.

Oh, Dawn, that is just priceless. You can tell just how far removed the PP culture is from ours based on the fact that *none* of their little alarm bells went off when they heard the name Tash...
