The Dawn Patrol: Comments

Fr. Pavone is a wonderful man. What he saw at Terri's bedside much have been truly appalling, because it takes a lot to get a non-gentle word out of him. And he blasted some of the folks involved in Terri's "care."

There's another lesson here. Men sworn to "protect and serve" could stand there and make sure a woman dies by government order.

The law is the law, and their job is to enforce it. They were, after all, only following orders.

Dawn, thanks for the link. Like P.R. wrote, it chills to the bone to realize that those called upon 'to serve and protect' enforced the torture and murder of Terri Schiavo.

Perhaps even more frightening, in a way, is the existence of an organization called Priests for Life. The fact that these priests must courageously band together to stand for life indicates that their are a population of priests who actively support the culture of death. The implications are staggering and make me weep. How can anyone, anyone, lay person, priest, minister, pastor, pick up a Bible and not understand that God is a God of life? It doesn't take a theological genius to figure that out.

May the soul of Terri Schiavo be granted eternal peace. May God have mercy on our souls.

ALL Catholic priests are prolife- this is a charitable organization that specifically concentrates on abolishing abortion.

>>ALL Catholic priests are prolife>>>

Faith, if only this was so. Unfortunately the likes of "Father" Robert Drinan, "Father" Charles Curran and "Father" Hans Kung prove otherwise. Father Pavone is a shining example of what the Catholic priest should be (someone like him should be a bishop IMO).

As for Terri, I can't read Father Pavone's words without thinking of all those talking heads and "doctors" on TV who talked about how she wasn't in pain or how she wasn't even really a "person" anymore. It just makes me ill thinking of those who wanted (for some reason) her dead.

JB3- Sadly, these false teachers who still call themselves Catholic but are not teaching Catholicism think they can make-it-up-as-they-go-along-like-little-popes- unto-themselves, and of course get plenty of press coverage when they bellow from the village square. Thankfully, they are not even remotely representative of the majority of priests who are faithful and obedient to Christ's teachings, which did warn there would be puffed-up hypocrites among us.
