The Dawn Patrol: Comments

Great song title! (I must confess that it immediately conjured up images of people clad in Raimbow Sashes, though I'm sure that's not what you had in mind...)

I'm sure this isn't, either:

You get up late for Mass - man you don't wanna pray
Your feelings say 'skip,' but it don't work that way!
Ain't confessed in years 'cause it never feels nice
But Father always preaches that you're gonna pay a price

(chorus) You gotta fight for your right to partake!

(Apologies to everyone, beastie or priestie! I am clearly an amateur!)

REminds me of my seminary days (daze?). In our case the group was known as the Minor Prophets (even if the Beastie Boyz had existed in those days "priesty boys" wouldn't have worked at a Methodist school).
The MP's were best known for their parody of a popular willie Nelson song of the day.

the refrain went"
Mommas, don't let
your babies grow up to be preachers
Don't let 'em write sermons
or exegete Greek
Make 'em go huntin or fishin the creek

It went downhill from there

"Exegete Greek"-- [laughing] . Minor Prophets is indeed a great name for a teen Christian band--surprised no one else has thought of it.

I like yours too, Mark!

That Heath Ledger "Catholic horror" movie (The Others) was originally titled "The Sin Eater," 'tho I don't know if there was a satanic tortilla in it.

They were in their mid-20s though (chronologicly speaking) and their second-most-requested song was their cover of Jim Stafford's "Legend of Cow Patty"

Thanks for the plug; I've had quite a bit on my plate (besides the tortilla—pun intended) lately, and I have not been able to keep up with my favorite blogs, or even to post much to my own blog! But once the school year settles down, I might have some more time.

The CD has been released! Please go and listen to it (and purchase it, if you like it) at www.priestieboyz.com.
