I'm familiar w/ this practice via a parish in the Camden diocese.

There is also the practice, encouraged by Priests for Life, of parishes spiritually adopting an abortion clinic to pray for.

My parish bulletin has a regular article that tracks the development of a child and invites prayer, sort of a loose spiritual adoption. It's very grounding to read amongst all the fish fries and clothing drives, "Today our unborn baby is twelve weeks old. He or she has brain waves and appears to take regular naps."

There's prayer cards, a poster, and little bulletin announcements like the above.
