it even sounds like fun ... just think of all the wonderful people you'll meet and write about - maybe the next max |
I wonder if you should also mention those of us who help make New York a better place by staying far away and not bothering it. I suppose "hero" might be a bit of a stretch, though. |

Maclin. LOL! |
Sounds like a plum assignment. Are there any age requirements? I know of some students who might make the cut. |
That's awesome, Dawn! |
Um, this idea may never make it, but what about the Sisters of Life? Aren't they based in NYC? Their whole thrust is helping pregnant women and post-abortive women and men. Cardinal O'Connor started the order in response to visiting Dachau and being moved by the Holocaust and the Culture of Death. I know somebody whose sister is in the order, if you are interested. I need to make sure it is in NYC, though. |

Father Stan Fortuna is one that came to my mind right off the bat. But maybe he's a little too public? |
Congratulations! |

Thanks, everyone! No age requirements, Amy -- do e-mail any ideas you might have. |

i have a story to tell about an amazing NYCer who was there for me during the transit strike and even afterwards. now that you are working on this "hero" series, you have provided just the impetus i needed to write the story. thanks! |
