I remember you calling once while traveling through Delaware. You'll be a stonesthrow from the Logan House where Pete Best has played a couple of times. Any connection? |
I hope we extend our best hospitality and give you a nice crowd when you descend on Champaign-Urbana. Alas, I don't think I'll be able to make it, since I work a night job.... |
Is that U of I at Urbana-Champaign or at Chicago? If it's Chicago I would love to come hear you talk ( and hopefully get my book signed). |
Jamila, it's at Urbana-Champaign, but I hope to come to Chicago in July and would be very happy to sign your book. |
I consider Wilmington to be my "hometown," so here are a few tips on how to make your visit there more eventful: |
If your talk bombs, just yell "Go Blue Hens," and everything will be all right. |
Don't forget that Delaware is one of only two states that doesn't have a sale tax. Although they did have the whipping post up until the 1950s. Remember the state motto, "Blink and you'll miss us!" |
and if you ever get to talk in Toledo OH, it is: "Go MUD HENS!" and absolution is forthcoming. I didn't know about the "Blue Hens". YLSNED |
When you get to Chicago, consider bopping down to Rockford. Our bishop is awesome and I would love to meet you in person. Alas, my job is such that I can't always get away even as close as Chicago... |
Yay! Chicago in July! Do you have a calendar of events so I can see where and when that will be? Now that you're on your way here, I know a Catholic bookstore/gathering place that may be able (they'll certainly be willing) to host a talk by you (I didn't suggest it sooner because I know they couldn't pay your way all the way from Foldable Pizza Land). |
