The Dawn Patrol: Comments

Well that one made me cry.

I am also a convert to Catholicism, after spending 23 years as a Protestant. One thing that I was skeptical about, at first, was the prescribed reading cycles in the Catholic Church. With that "rigidity," where is the room for the Holy Spirit?? Obviously, he can move quite well, as your experience suggests. He brought the Psalm response of the day into your heart and mind when you needed it most! When we desire and make the effort to be in step with His Church, God brings such blessing and clarity to our hearts. He lets us know, "This is right where I want you: in harmony with the Church I founded." I'm so glad he has brought you into the fold as well, to be a witness to the truth of the Church and the dignity of the human person. You are in my prayers.

Please join my husband and I in prayer as we prepare to share the true meaning of chastity with our church's confirmation candidates next Thursday. Thank you again for your witness and courage!

That's a wonderful account, Dawn!! Just over a year ago, I had a similar experience involving a reading during Mass. The peace of soul that I encountered afterwards was breathtaking.

One thing Christians of all stripes are constantly neglectful of is the constant presence of the angels in our lives. I heard a talk by Father Euteneuer of HLI before Christmas that gave a helpful reminder to me, as well the other attendees, of the ministry of the angels.

St. Francis de Sales put it this way: "Make friends with the angels, who though invisible are always with you. Often invoke them, constantly praise them, and make good use of their help and assistance in all your temporal and spiritual affairs. "

Thank you for sharing that Dawn. That was very beautiful and very touching. I loved that you shared how you were held up by the power of prayer and Faith and community and family. Sending my prayers as well,
Anne

I was going to say the exact same thing as Monica: that made me cry. What a beautiful experience, Dawn. Thanks for sharing it.

Joy and suffering, a whole life. Grateful to God that you came through uncomfortably but well, surrounded by family and with lots of prayer to float you through the rough spots.

Beautiful story Dawn. Glad you're feeling better. Ain't God a wonderful stinker?
BTW. What the dickens were you doing out of bed at 1 AM?

you are and will remain in our prayers.

Wow. All I can say is---wow!

God is so good. Thanks for the reminder -- something that Jewish people are good at doing: calling to mind God's goodness and faithfulness in all things. Peace, my sister in Christ!
