The Dawn Patrol: Comments

Thanks Dawn. I've dowloaded it for my 15 year old dd's ipod. I'm trusting you on this, that, although they are not Catholic, the twins message won't contradcict anything in the Faith. :-)

You ought to get to Steubenville to see an on-fire Catholic conference for young adults, BTW!

I've been following the Harrises from a distance and haven't heard them say anything that contradicts the Faith. At the same time, it's great that you're also aware of on-fire Catholic YA conferences -- sounds like that would be good for your 15-year-old as well. BTW, what's a dd?

Stebenville is my alma mater. Changed my life. Wish we Catholics could have those kinds of youth-oriented-to-Christ events like our separated brethren do!

A dd is a "dear daughter." :-)

Hmm. I don't know if the Harris twins are rebelling or just living in a Christian bubble. Their older brother is Joshua Harris, pastor and author of I Kissed Dating Goodbye, and I've seen their father described as a pioneer in Christian homeschooling. I don't think that their Web site feels like something produced by teenagers, but I like the philosophy.

'Do hard things' sounds like something Ned Flanders' sons would say. Besides Thomas said the hardest thing was not always the best, and the Lord said His yoke was easy and his burden (burthen?) light.

Come to think of it, the Nazis told their camp counselors to harden up, and winning the communist revolution in Russia was probably hard. Suicide bombing is arguably hard, what with the dying and all.

Being a porn star probably takes some endurance and effort. Poetry may be difficult, but who really cares about that?

No, hard is weak, give me something better than that. Youth needs more correction than encouragement. Pass the word; maybe they'll slip me a ten-spot.

Or was this too hard-hearted?
