The Dawn Patrol: Comments

I'll say some prayers for you tonight and tomorrow morning as well!

I'll offer my daily rosary for your intentions until you're home safe and well! +JMJ+ John

My best to you.

There is no such thing as minor surgery when it is your own body. :)

This is the best part of being in the Church, Dawn. Suddenly, thousands and thousands of people are one with you and raising you up to the Lord.

Count me in too!

I've been checking in over the last year or two and really enjoy the page--your travels, your work, your enthusiasm for Chesterton, and certainly your spiritual journey are all of great interest to me. I really appreciate you sharing your life in this way.

I will say a prayer for your surgery tomorrow, and 2 for your recovery. And please, come back to us as soon as possible! God bless you!

Best of luck. May everything go smoothly, and your healing be uncomplicated.

Having "been under" more times than I can count (thanks to an ailment I've had since childhood), I can totally relate to your nervousness about your procedure. I've taken to thinking of it as a chemically induced nap. my pryers are with you!

Prayers for you, Dawn!

prayers ascend for you this side of the pond too, Dawn!

God Bless you

Leaving in a few minutes (it's 5:30 a.m. here in D.C.). So happy to wake up to these beautiful prayers -- thank you!

Prayers going out for you from here in South Africa. I hope that your recovery goes well.

Prayers from all of us in Southern Maryland!

"you have just as many days now as you did the day before your diagnosis. Certainly, what is a surprise to you is not to Christ."

Wow, what a great way of looking at this.

Prayers from Boston too :)

You've been in my prayers that everything will go well; I'm making an Adoration visit at lunchtime and will remember you and your intentions!

I'll say a prayer for you, Dawn (and for the nurses who may be in the vicinity of your legs).

God's peace and Health.

Prayers, Dawn -- this kind of detour is no fun. Praying you are on your feet in no time and especially they don't find anything worrisome.

Many prayers for a successful surgery and recovery!

Many prayers for your speedy recovery - and for the continued impact of your book and your life.

Greetings,

I brought communion to Dawn this afternoon. She was cheerful, happy to receive our Lord, and talking about her heavenly friends, G.K. Chesterton and Archbp. Fulton Sheen. Her gracious father, Dr. Goldstein, is with her. She says hello to all of you and thanks you for your continued prayers.

Peace,
Br. Hugh Vincent Dyer O.P.

"When you awake you will remember everything. . . ."

A speedy recovery!

Remembering you in prayer...

You don't know me, but I'm praying for you and will keep praying to you can let us know that you're okay.

I'm with whoever said there's no such thing as minor surgery. (I had "minor surgery" recently.)

Godspeed back to the blogosphere.

Perhaps the Prayer to St. Blaise, associated with healing the throat, is in order:

O glorious Saint Blase, who by thy martyrdom didst leave to the Church a precious witness to the faith, obtain for us the grace to preserve within ourselves this divine gift, and to defend, without human respect, both by word and example, the truth of that same faith, which is so wickedly attacked and slandered in these our times. Thou who didst miraculously restore a little child when it was at the point of death by reason of an affliction of the throat, grant us thy mighty protection in like misfortunes; and, above all, obtain for us the grace of Christian mortification together with a faithful observance of the precepts of the Church, which may keep us from offending Almighty God. Amen.

Feel better, Dawn. Thinking of you and your swift recovery.

My thoughts and prayers are with you, Dawn.

Praying for you, Dawn.

When she got to the question about whether I ever had anesthesia, I felt compelled to warn her: The last time I went under, for an eye operation in late 2000, a nurse told me afterwards that, while I was knocked out, I kicked her in the chest.

Yikes.

God be with you.

Kids and I will put you in oure evening prayer, Dawn! Hope you are feeling alright.

Just read this Dawn..trusting our Good Lord took care of all...

will keep you in prayer

Be well, speedy recovery, prayers offered.

I'm back and about to very happily read all these comments, after deleting the ones from the troll. Just read through all these comments and am about to hit my e-mail. Will post about my op later today -- have some stories I'm looking forward to sharing. Everything went very, very well, much better than expected, and I know all your prayers helped. Thank you so much! Also, my dad checked the comments here before taking me to the hospital for my operation, and I know they buoyed him too.

Karen of Some Have Hats, great to know you're reading. I've long appreciated your "Good Old-Fashioned St. Ignatius Jesuits" honor roll.

I'm glad you're feeling better, Dawn. Make sure you get your throat blessed on Sunday. God bless!

St. Blaise, pray for your fellow servant.

Best to you, Dawn. Our prayers are with you.
