The Dawn Patrol: Comments

Dawn,

FWIW, I once quoted you and recommended your book in the course of a homily; got some positive feedback, too. Can't actually remember what I said, but still . . .

Regards

Beautiful!

---I would stress a point made by Sheen that parents of biological children are not exempt from the duty to have spiritual children.---

As a father of nine, I've been parenting my entire adult life. As such, it's essentially an instinctive reflex at this point. I'll parent any kid who gets into range, whether they're my kid or not....handing out love, attention or correction as needed.

God has given me many to love...and now I'm able to love those he didn't give to me.

It's a good life :)

Dawn... I'd recomend to you and your readers a recent article by Fr. Stephen Freedman at http://fatherstephen.wordpress.com/ on the Secret Place of the Most High. An excellent read and very relevant to your cause of chasity. In it he talks of the secret place as "it is to honor the most holy thing within each of us. Thus we learn to approach the Secret Place with great reverence, even in silence and awe"

Thanks, Dawn. Beautifully stated. I will keep your advice in mind next time I give a homily on chastity.

Thanks for this Dawn! I especially like your comments on the universal call to Spiritual Parenthood. It made me want to spend some time reflecting on that call and its implications for understanding the Church... will "It takes a village" be replaced by "It takes a Church"? God bless!

So when is Father Belli going to write a guest posting in response?
