And so the days are filled...

Gravatar Cool info! Are you an expat Meg?

Gravatar Times have changed a lot. 5 years ago there were loads of trick or treaters about now there just aren't any.

The first year that we moved to the current neighbourhood, we were confronted with a band of tweeny girls... we didn't have candy but I did have about a dozen little bottles of nail polish from a trip to Duane Reades in NY so that's what they got. No doubt their parents were appalled

Gravatar oooh, i kinda hope i'm your soundswap recipient!

interesting list! i, for one, absolutely adore fireworks. in my first apartment, oftentimes Philadelphia put on a show near the Ben Franklin Bridge, and I could see them from my deck. I'd hear the telltale boom and go racing outside to watch.

And hot dogs? Well, how many people are there in the US? On average, if you're going to be eating a hot dog, you'll eat two (because, yum), so really only 75 million people are eating hot dogs over July 4 weekend? Actually seems low to me

Gravatar Cool looking CD!

The hotdog thing baffles me. I can't eat hotdogs and the ones with cheese in the middle gross me out more than anything ever. Yuck!

The first year I owned a house I was so excited to get trick-or-treaters. I think we had 5 and I was upset. I think they all go to events now...

Gravatar oh you're American! I had no idea.

And I longed to be the kid on crutches too. I think it was an attention thing. I wanted a cast too so everyone could sign it. Then I grew up to be a blogger who loved people leaving comments. I never saw the link before. LOL!

Gravatar When I was little I played chess for a little while. Now I am way too lazy to think that much. Every now and then I think I should do it just to exercise my brain. Whew!
So what is the Aussie substitute for hot dogs? Shrimps on the barbie? Even Norwegians eat wieners for their holidays!

Gravatar I like the big fireworks that cities do for July 4th. I loathe the little fireworks people buy to set off in their own backyards, that have nothing to show for the irritating noises they make. Those are definitely a waste of money. I don't do Halloween but like most of the other holidays!

That sound swap intrigues me. I need to click on the link and check it out! (at least to find out what it's about, not to sign up).

Gravatar Ha! Now that I read the list I totally see how it's all themed--I definitely did not pick up on it before, but now that I know, it's ingenious!!

Thanks again SO MUCH for the awesome mix. I still haven't even listened to it, but I love it already.
